Started in 1995 and incorporated in 2000, Traverse Tours Sdn Bhd is a 100% locally owned company. We have few brand under our wings: RIVERBUG, Mari Mari Cultural Village, Mari Mari Mantanani Island and Mari Mari Sepanggar Island.
RIVERBUG or fondly known worldwide as RIVERBUG Crew is renowned as ‘The White Water Rafting Specialists’, believes in going the extra miles when it comes to delivering the ultimate White Water Rafting experience. RIVERBUG has three base camp which is located at Kiulu River, Padas River, and Kampar River.
Started as a small whitewater rafting company in Sabah, now has grown into an award winning outdoor adventure tour operator. Grow stronger by the year as we open our branch at Kampar, Perak on 2005 with more exhilarating and adventurous sport.
RIVERBUG’s crew consists of professional river guides with more than 20 years of experience in adventure activities, with proficiency in both, Swift Water Rescue Program and White Water Safety. In operational side, Traverse Tours takes pride in their outstanding impeccable safety record. All of the guides are trained in water safety rescue techniques are on par with International Rafting Federation (IRF) and associated with the New Zealand Canoeing Association; with a continuous refresh course for every four months.
Meanwhile, Mari Mari Cultural Village initiated on 2008 and it offers glimpses into the lives of Sabah’s rich culture with its distinctive houses, costumes and traditional skills of five major Sabah’s ethnic groups; Dusun, Rungus, Lundayeh, Bajau, and Murut. With the tagline AS IT WAS... AS IT IS... Mari Mari Cultural Village offer the best Borneo culture, experience yourself Sabahan hospitality as our guide bring you to the past and see, hear, taste and feel the uniqueness what Mari Mari Cultural Village has to offer.
Mari Mari Mantanani also founded on 2008, located at Mantanani Islands which is a group of three isolated islands located northwest of Kota Belud. Stay at our Mari Mari Mantanani Lodge, where the island is yours to explore: go island trekking and see what life is like for locals in the fishing village or simply laze on the beach and work on your tan.
Besides Mari Mari Mantanani, there are much to explore on Mari Mari Sepanggar. Established on 2013, Sepanggar Island offer white sandy beaches with a panoramic sunset mirror by the urban landscape of Kota Kinabalu, Gaya Bay and Likas Bay. For a short escapade for the busy city life; Mari Mari Sepanggar Island is the answer.
